Our Story

Welcome to Our Line Dancing Community!

Hello Line Dancer,

I'm Jenn, the heart and soul behind this vibrant line dancing community. Picture this: a dance floor, pulsating with energy, and a group of people moving together with the music—that's the magic of line dancing, and I fell in love with it instantly back in 2014.

Currently I am located in Lynbrook, NY (Nassau County, Long Island). My journey however took an exciting turn in 2017 when I moved to Sydney, Australia where the line dancing scene was relatively quiet. Determined to keep the spirit alive, I embarked on my instructing journey and I fell even more in love with it! Teaching became my way of spreading the infectious joy that line dancing brings.

Fast forward to 2021, I found myself back on Long Island. This homecoming marked the birth of Country City, a place where the heartwarming charm of country dancing meets the vibrant energy of the big city.

In my years of dancing, I've picked up some invaluable tips that I'm eager to share (and will remind you in class also):

1. If You Miss a Step, Skip a Step: Line dancing is all about the joy of movement. If you miss a beat, simply skip to the next one and keep grooving. It's the best way to stay in the flow.

2. Keep your weight on Your Toes: Balancing on your toes not only adds grace to your movements but also makes pivoting a breeze. It's a technique that transforms your dance style.

3. Keep Your Steps Small: Small steps, surprisingly, keep you perfectly in sync with the beat. Plus, they allow for intricate footwork and make dancing more enjoyable.

4. Embrace the Fun, Embrace the Mistakes: Line dancing is about letting loose, having fun, and embracing the occasional missteps. Remember, it's not about being perfect; it's about enjoying every moment on the dance floor.

I'm thrilled to share my knowledge, experiences, and the sheer joy of line dancing with all of you. Whether you're a beginner taking your first steps or an experienced dancer looking to refine your skills, you're in the right place.

Put on your dancing shoes, turn up the music, and let's dance our hearts out!

Cheers,

Jenn
